The KINGSTON ONT sales rep misrepresented the service. Verbal -NO CONTRACT turned into a two year term.

Verbal- 30 DAYS CANCELLATION turns into $200 cancellation fee. The salesman checked boxes for overseas calling when I don't make any overseas call. I was paying $20 per month for phone service with call waiting, forwarding, conference calling etc. as an add on with Fido.

I was told that I would have all of that for $3 a month more. NONE OF THIS WAS TRUE. The contract was reviewed on a tablet. BEWARE.

There are service area fees, modem rental fees, 911 fees and activation fees. In short, the bill for my first 7 weeks of service could have paid for 5 months of Fido home phone service. No features for much more money. UNLIMITED NORTH AMERICAN CALLING INCLUDED - no mention of the $10 extra per month for this service.

Quote from our summary: 9. If you wish to cancel your service, Primus requires 30 days notice prior to cancellation. Otherwise the equivalent of one full month of service will be applied to your bill. I was told that this changed in 2015 and yet the sales rep signed it on Oct 26 2016.

The fine print on the back of the contract is different. They will not honour the statement on the summary. I am being charged $200 early cancellation.

The salesperson was talking about all the features and reviewing them on a tablet. Turns out he was signing us up for the services all the while misrepresenting the cost.

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $275.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Primus Canada Cons: Misrepresented by the sales rep at costco.

Primus did contact me and has promised to waive the cancellation fee. The Internet was supposed to be cancelled 3 days ago. We will see how this unfolds.
